Description
A Special Project by David Wright for the Southern Cross Chapter 2578, United Daughters of the Confederacy. Now sold by the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
This stirring scene depicts a Southern rally at the boyhood home of Lt. General Nathan Bedford Forrest, a place he visited during the war to hold recruitment barbecues. The site was witness to the development of the future warrior’s courage, tenacity and leadership skills. The hand-hewn cedar log structure, nestled in the bluegreen hills of middle Tennessee, was built in the 1820s and is designed in the Midland tradition, typical of structures of that era of expansion. It is now under the care of Sons of Confederate Veterans.
This exquisite painting by David Wright was commissioned by Southern Cross Chapter 2578, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Nashville.
All sales are donated to the SCV’s restoration of the Forrest boyhood home.
Order now to benefit this historic Confederate site.
